What it does
Broad-spectrum photostable filter with unique micro-fine particle structure. Works synergistically with Tinosorb S to give complete UV coverage.

What it does
Dedicated UVA booster. Highly photostable. Responsible for the PA++++ rating in Healoram Sunscreen.
Why we chose it
UVA rays are responsible for long-term skin ageing and pigmentation. Uvinul A Plus provides sustained UVA protection without adding greasiness.

Multi-functional skin active
Concentration in Healoram
4% in Sunscreen • 5% in Moisturiser • 2% in Face Wash
What it does
Strengthens the skin barrier, minimises pore appearance, brightens uneven skin tone, regulates sebum production, and calms redness.
Why we chose it
The single most versatile active in modern skincare. Works at low concentrations, well-tolerated by sensitive skin, evidence-backed by multiple clinical studies. In Healoram, it appears in all 3 products at concentrations tailored to each formula.
INCI names
Ceramide NP • Ceramide AP • Ceramide EOP
Category
Skin-identical barrier lipids
Concentration in Healoram
NP 0.5–1.5% • AP 0.2–0.8% • EOP 0.1–0.5% in Moisturiser
Delivered with
Phytosphingosine + Cholesterol (form a proper lamellar bilayer)
What it does
Rebuilds and reinforces the skin’s own protective barrier — the same architecture as your skin’s natural lipid layer.
Why we chose it
Many brands list ceramides without the delivery system needed for them to actually work. Healoram uses all three key ceramide types plus Phytosphingosine and Cholesterol — a complete system that mimics your skin’s natural lipid structure.
INCI names
Fermented Oryza Sativa (Rice) Water
Category
Botanical extract
Concentration in Healoram
15–20% in Face Wash
What it does
Rich in inositol, amino acids, and ferulic acid. Visibly brightens and soothes with regular use.
Why we chose it
Fermented rice water has significantly enhanced bioavailability compared to plain rice water. The fermentation process amplifies its skin-conditioning benefits.
An honest brand shows what’s NOT in the product just as clearly as what is. Here is what Healoram deliberately leaves out:
Fragrance is the #1 sensitiser in cosmetic products. It offers no functional benefit to the skin. We keep the fragrance experience for a separate category — our upcoming Healoram Aroma fragrance line — not layered into your skincare.
Sulfate surfactants strip the skin’s acid mantle and damage the barrier. We use Sodium Cocoyl Isethionate (SCI) instead — a coconut-derived gentle surfactant that cleans effectively without stripping.
Mineral filters are the primary cause of white cast on Indian skin tones. Our new-generation chemical filter system provides SPF 50+ PA++++ protection without any mineral filters — meaning zero white cast on Fitzpatrick IV–VI skin tones.
Heavy occlusives feel greasy in Indian heat and humidity. Our Moisturiser uses Squalane, Dimethicone, and Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride instead — lightweight, non-comedogenic, and fast-absorbing.
These preservatives release formaldehyde over time. India allows them, but they are restricted or banned in the EU. We use a modern, cleaner preservative system: Phenoxyethanol and Ethylhexylglycerin at safe concentrations, within all EU limits.
Widely used in mass-market cosmetics in India. All flagged for safety concerns internationally. Not needed when a properly designed preservative system exists — which is what we use.
Most sunscreens sold in India — including well-known Indian brands — still use first-generation UV filters like Octinoxate (OMC) and Avobenzone. These filters were developed in the 1970s and 80s. They work, but they have significant limitations: they degrade rapidly under sunlight, they cause skin sensitivity in many people, and their effectiveness drops within hours of application.
Healoram uses four new-generation UV filters approved in India, the European Union, Australia, Japan, and Korea — but not yet cleared by the US FDA. These filters were developed by BASF and DSM specifically to address the shortcomings of older filters. They are photostable, meaning they don’t degrade in sunlight. They are broad-spectrum, covering both UVA and UVB. And critically, they don’t cause white cast on Indian skin tones.
OLD-GENERATION FILTERS
Octinoxate (OMC), Avobenzone, Oxybenzone, Octocrylene
Degrades under sunlight within 1–2 hours
Concerns over hormone disruption and skin sensitivity
Often paired with heavy Titanium Dioxide (causes white cast)
Developed in the 1970s–80s
NEW-GENERATION FILTERS
Tinosorb S, Tinosorb M, Uvinul A Plus, Uvinul T 150, Mexoryl XL
Photostable — maintains full efficacy for hours
No hormone-disruption concerns • lower sensitivity risk
Zero white cast on all skin tones — no mineral filters needed
Developed by BASF and DSM in the 1990s–2010s
This is one of the more unusual quirks of global sunscreen regulation. In the USA, sunscreens are classified as over-the-counter drugs, which means new UV filters need to go through the same rigorous approval process as medications — a process that takes decades.
In the European Union, India, Australia, and most of Asia, sunscreens are classified as cosmetics, which means new UV filters can be approved much faster if they meet cosmetic safety standards.
The result: American consumers today are still using UV filters approved in the 1980s. Everyone else — including India — has access to modern, superior UV filters. In December 2025, the US FDA finally proposed allowing Bemotrizinol (Tinosorb S) for the first time in over 25 years. Approval is still pending as of mid-2026.
For Healoram, this is a technical advantage we deliberately embrace. We’re not making sunscreens for the American regulatory environment. We’re making sunscreens for Indian skin, with the best UV filters available anywhere in the world.
The most studied new-generation broad-spectrum UV filter. Photostable, effective against both UVA and UVB. This is the filter that most modern European and Japanese sunscreens are built around.
Complements Tinosorb S with micro-fine particles that scatter and absorb UV. Works synergistically to give complete spectrum coverage without white cast.
A dedicated UVA-focused filter. Since UVA rays cause most of the visible skin ageing and pigmentation, this is the filter responsible for our PA++++ rating.
A highly efficient UVB booster. Even at low concentrations it delivers significant SPF contribution — which is why our Sunscreen achieves SPF 50+ without needing to load up on heavy oils and waxes.
Three products. All the science above. Zero fragrance. Formulated for Indian skin.
